CHAPTER TEN

Charlie woke up with his face smashed against Kevin's shoulder, again, and he held his breath, trying to commit this moment into memory down to every little detail. The sunlight coming through the window was hot against his back and his uncovered feet, but the small breeze coming from outside stopped him from getting overheated. Kevin's body was warm and solid, and smelling delicious—scent of sex and time spent outdoors, and hints of something else Charlie couldn't quite figure out. And his own body… Well, his own body ached in the best of ways. He felt well-rested and relaxed to the bone, and, God, he hadn't known how much he missed that until he had it again.

He didn't want to move.

He didn't plan to move any time soon. He would just stay like this, and enjoy it.

Then someone started singing Mamma Mia right under his window, it seemed like. Someones, even, since he could hear three different voices.

That was it, he would have to kill three of his good friends.

He rolled over and shouted, "Shut up!". It earned him a few laughs and one or two apologies, but they also stopped singing, so at least there was that.

He turned back to resume his place against Kevin's side, and he found the man awake and looking at him with tongue between his teeth, trying not to laugh.

"You too, shut up," Charlie mumbled and lay down again, this time hiding his face in the creek between Kevin's arm and chest.

"Good morning to you, too," Kevin murmured before turning onto his side and pulling Charlie closer. He dropped a kiss on the top of Charlie's head and let out a deep sigh.

"We're not getting back to sleep, are we?" Charlie mumbled, hoping against hope that Kevin would disagree.

"We're not." Kevin nuzzled his prickly cheek against Charlie's hair. It was nice. "We don't have to get up, though, either."

God, I love you, Charlie almost said, and he swallowed it deep, deep down. It was meant as a joke, like when someone brought him pizza and he said he loved them, but it didn't seem all that funny in this particular moment.

Charlie didn't want to look too close as to why that was.

"Great," he said instead, and sneaked his arm around Kevin's waist.

They could stay like this for a while longer.
